People say traveling is food for the soul, that our life is a book and those who do not travel only read one page. They’re right, and exploring the world helps shape our lives and make us better humans. Sounds deep, I know, but when you’re in that perfect moment in a foreign city ready to wander and experience new things in life, I’m sure you know exactly what I mean. I went on two Contiki trips this year: one last summer called the Mediterranean Escape (you can watch the video I made HERE) and another one just last month for a very special campaign called The Travel Project.
We all know that Contiki is all about connecting young people through traveling and encourages everybody to live with no regrets, but The Travel Project is another medium wherein you can totally seek to discover how travel can create positive change not just within the world, but within yourself. I was once scared to see new places because I was living in the comforts of my own little bubble in the Philippines, but when I got to see Paris or London or Vienna for the first time, I knew I wanted to explore every little city I could. To live and breathe other cultures, to walk in a foreign city trying to blend in, to talk to a stranger, to learn compassion, to eat something you’ve never heard of before, to make new friends and know how each of us are so different— this is why we travel.
I always leave a new city and take a little piece of it home with me— and this applies with the way I dress, talk, and think. Your style changes constantly, just like your vision and goals in life. By traveling, you get to apply all the experiences you’ve had in your everyday life and you come back to you own country feeling recharged every time. Again, this is why we travel— Not to say we’ve been there, but to constantly keep learning and to continuously change who we are.
Working online, I’ve always been curious to know how fashion bloggers in their own cities work and what motivates them to create such unique and inspiring photos. On my travel project, I was able to meet up with local bloggers in London and Paris and got to see the city from their own eyes. Lucy, who’s based in London, and Anna, who lives in Paris, are both sweethearts. I’ll talk about them more on my future posts, but for now, I wanted to share with you this video The Travel Project created during my Contiki trip.
