What to Do in Budapest, Hungary I

What to do in Budapest

Being with my bestie Sean for the first time in Europe opened my eyes and made me thirsty for more adventures— that’s why we did a weekend trip from Vienna to Budapest at the last minute. I wasn’t quite sure if I wanted to go being it wasn’t part of the itinerary— I can be spontaneous, trust me, but booking a train/plane ticket requires a lot of thinking. I told him I was 50-50 about it, and guess what he did: he booked an airbnb so I couldn’t back out anymore. Lol. That’s why we’re best friends. The train ride was about 3-4 hours long and we arrived just in time for an early dinner and a lovely stroll around the city.

Our place was huge! We booked a two bedroom apartment because we were able to convince Tim Yap and some new friends Gene and Gerard to tag along.

Budapest is even more gorgeous during sunset, my favourite time of the day. The pastel-colored sky made the entire city look like a dreamy place and the old buildings and churches are just so beautiful. We didn’t get to go to all the places we wanted on our first day because we had some complications with regards to our airbnb— but everything was sorted out eventually. I just really wanted to walk around and be an explorer (naks). I got to see the iconic Chain Bridge, St. Stephens Basilica, people laughing over a few drinks at their balcony (which you don’t normally see in my country), and their beautiful Danube canal that goes all the way to Vienna. Hope you like these photos!
