Vietnam Travel Diary

Ho Chi Minh

Walking on the streets of Vietnam, I got to see all the beauty that this city has to offer through my own two feet. It’s really different if you’re wearing a pair of comfortable sandals- and thanks to Fitflop, I was able to explore, experience and enjoy my four days here.

We stayed at Liberty Central Saigon Hotel, which is a very convenient location if you’re a first timer in Ho Chi Minh. The food street market is just five to ten minutes away from the hotel and the shopping mall is just nearby.

Our first lunch in Vietnam was at Propaganda restaurant and they served the best fresh spring rolls and pho noodle soup. During lunch, they briefed us about what’s going to happen on the duration of our stay.

Everyone’s wearing Fitflop sandals! Their new collection is the bomb! Definitely happiness at your feet.

And so the tour begins! First stop: The Independence Palace. Built on the site of the former Norodom Palace, this was the home and workplace of South Vietnam’s President during the Vietnam War. I got to learn about this place’s history during this country’s turbulent time.

During the war, they built a secret “office” in their basement to hide and no one knew about it, except the officers/soldiers. I still can’t believe I got to go inside!

Next stop: The Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica of Saigon. I’m sure you’ve seen my previous outfit post in Vietnam- yep, that was shot outside the cathedral! Lol.

Highlight of my trip: They held a contest wherein everyone had to interconnect a vintage postcard of a famous landmark posed to it’s current location. And I WON!!!!!!!!!! I still don’t know how it happened hahaha but I’m so thankful they chose my photo and caption. Now I have one year supply of Fitflop!

The dinner was held at Villa Song and it was such a perfect venue for the launch of Fitflop’s SS16 collection. Every special collaboration they did with a designer was displayed and featured for everyone to see.

Of course, the latest collection was the highlight of the night.

Next day was such a fun day as well- we got to learn how to make Vietnamese coffee and create our own artwork.

Ho Chi Minh

I didn’t know their local coffee consisted of condensed milk- lots and lots of condensed milk! I like my coffee bitter so you don’t really have to follow it step by step.

Art class!!! I like being creative and I’m actually just starting to collect art, so the moment I found out we were going to make our own artwork, I was so ecstatic! I really love being a student.

On our last night, we tried the indochina junk river cruise and it’s such a nice way to cap off the trip.

Fitflop’s SS16 collection has a great variation of styles that you can wear from day to night. They’re quite versatile, comfortable (of course) and not only that, they’re incredibly stylish too! Personally, I find this collection the best one yet! They’ve also added metallics, leather and a couple of more variety where you can choose from. I specifically love the double strap mandals and criss cross slip-ons.

Recently I’ve noticed that more people go for comfort over style, but the new Fitflop collection offers you both!

Thank you so much Fitflop for inviting me. I had a great first time in Vietnam and I can’t wait for my one year free supply! Lol! BMS.
