Sumilon Getaway

My trip to Sumilon Island was only for three days and I really wanted to extend because the place was so beautiful and peaceful. I enjoyed every single moment I was there- even if sometimes I’d end up doing nothing and would just stare at the horizon. Blue Water Sumilon Resort is such a wonderful place to stay- they have the complete adventure/relaxation package: snorkelling, trekking, swimming, body massage with an astonishing view, whaleshark watching, kayaking, etc.

Naked Sun Swimwear bikini and Vetus Shop cover up: my favourite combination.

We did whaleshark watching in Oslob, Cebu- it’s probably a 30 minute boat ride from Sumilon Island and the best time to do it is in the morning. Never in my life have I ever imagined I could do such a thing but I did! Conquer your fears!!!

You can’t bring a big boat where the whalesharks are because the noise of the engine will scare them away. We had to transfer to a smaller boat and swim with them from there. You can also rent an underwater camera with a photographer (sosyal) so you can take unforgettable moments under the sea. Here are some of my favourite underwater photos with Champ, Louisa and Joey.

Champ is seriously an island boy and loves adventure. He was the first one who jumped in the water!

Whalesharks are huge! They’re about a size of a jeep, and the biggest (I heard) is about a size of a bus.

Our Sumilon Getaway group. Louisa is actually my handler in W Talent but we still hang out even if it’s not for work. She takes good care of me and treats me like a close friend rather than just a workmate. I’m blessed to be working with the people I love and admire.

I didn’t want to jump in the ocean at first even if everybody was already in the water taking photos with the wahlesharks- a local manong who was the one assisting us told me with an american accent, “You’re just wasting your time you know.” In fairness to his way of saying it pa! Haha it made me laugh so I jumped.. but I have a confession- when I jumped in the ocean and saw how huge they were, I wanted to get inside the boat right away hahaha! In fairness to manong again, he told me there is no incident of them eating a human. SANA NAMAN! I swear, he made my day!

They have the comfiest seats outside their villas if you want to embrace nature or even just take a cozy nap.

I’m still on a Sumilon Island high. I’d love to go back there again. These last two photos are my favourite- with all my travel photos, I’m sure you can tell I’m a sunset lover. I had a great time experiencing all the adventure and yummy food in Blue Water Sumilon Resort. This summer, if you want to get away from the city and just be with close friends or family, try going here. I’m sure you won’t regret every single moment.
