I love boutique hotels. Every time I’m in another country, I always like staying in a boutique hotel because I feel like they’re more cozy and home-y. Don’t get me wrong, five-star hotels are awesome, but if you’re with a group of friends who all want to save a little bit of extra money for shopping and leisure- why not stay at a place that has all the amenities you’ll be needing… and all the perfect instagram-worthy shots you’ll be wanting? I went to Hong Kong last month with my good friends Nix Damn P, Inno Naguit and Cher Lui Pio and decided to stay at Residence G at Tsim Sha Tsui.
Residence G is under Hotel G and they have several boutique hotels all over Asia. I knew I’d be happy staying here because it’s already my third time staying in their hotel. First was in Bangkok, second was in Malaysia and third in Hong Kong. All their hotels look different but they have that same vibe which is cool, clean and relaxing.
They serve free coffee, tea and cookies at the lobby if you want to just chill before leaving the hotel. Also, some of their staff are pinoys!!! How cool is that? I instantly got along with everyone and it made me feel more welcome.
Best thing ever: They have a phone that you can borrow so you’ll have a local sim with internet connection all throughout your stay. You can also use the hotspot connection so your local phone will have internet too.
The interiors of the place is so minimal but so awesome at the same time. Seriously, I didn’t want to leave my room anymore! It looks so clean, right?
Our first out of the country trip together!!!! #fun
We really made sure our entire stay was packed with shopping, eating and partying! Since we were only there for four days, we definitely went to all the places we wanted to see.
It was my first time at PMQ, a shopping building located at Central where they sell tons of local designers items. Seriously, you can spend your whole afternoon here! I pretty much entered all the stores and wanted to buy 60% of what I saw.
I heard this building used to be an old police station and was just transformed into a shopping area when it got closed down. Anyway, I love everything about PMQ! You have to visit this place when you go to Hong Kong.
Saw a wall there filled with doodles so I decided to write my name on the wall too! Thank you Cher for bringing a pen! Lol.
The LLWP crew. (will not tell you what it means hahaha)
Date night! Cher and I decided to have a date at Scarlett, a cafe and wine bar located just beside Residence G. You know it’s good french food if most of the people who were dining were actually french.
They already had a special menu prepared for us and I got excited when I saw what they were going to serve us. Each dish was paired with a specific glass of wine too. I’ve tried wine pairing before and I can honestly say that my best experience so far is here at Scarlett. All the dishes tasted so much better with the wine they served us. I’m not even exaggerating when I tell you this: they have the best wild oysters in the world- and when I took a sip of wine that they chose, it was tasted so good I think I had a mini orgasm inside hahaha.
This is probably the fanciest dinner date I’ve had with someone and I’m glad it was with you, Cher!
At the end of a day full of shopping, walking, eating and dancing (at clubs), you’d want to go back to your hotel knowing you’ll be able to sleep like a baby and wake up reenergized the next day. Definitely felt this during my stay at Residence G. For bookings and more information about Residence G, visit their website and follow them on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. Residence G is located at 2 Austin Avenue, Tsim Sha Tsui (TST), Kowloon, Hong Kong and is within walking distance of TST MRT station.
