Last May 19, I had the privilege to host an intimate lunch with Coco Rocha at Desiderata Lounge, an art deco-inspired restaurant located at the Fort for Love Scotch. When Johnnie Walker contacted me asking me to host the lunch for her- I was stunned. “THE Coco Rocha?” I asked and when they said yes, no need for any more questions. I know I was going to say yes no matter what.
#LoveScotch is a global movement that celebrates our world’s love affair with Scotch and ignites a passion amongst a new generation of whisky drinkers. From its humble beginnings in the terrains of Scotland, Scotch is now considered the universal drink for celebrations around the world. Since Coco Rocha is one of the ambassadors of Love Scotch, she went to visit Asia and celebrate World Whiskey Day that happened last May 21.
Too busy taking photos of our Johnnie Smash drinks.
During our intimate lunch, all the guests, including me, had the chance to ask Coco about some questions that made us know her more and see her bubbly side. Some of her answers were really funny; I was smiling and laughing most of the time. Did you know that she grew up with Filipino yayas and ate turon as her merienda? Cool, right?
After lunch, all the guests had the chance to strike a pose like Coco Rocha. Yes, you heard it right! Since Coco Rocha is known as the “queen of posing”, all of us were very game to strike a pose like Coco Rocha. We were asked to choose a picture of Coco Rocha doing her signature poses and had to imitate it. Hahaha look at Jelito De Leon and Lissa Kahayon’s faces!!! Here are some of the best poses:
Coco was showing me the picture I chose while I was trying to copy her. Pressure much!!!
Raymond Ang- sobrang cute!!!
Sam Lee doing it effortlessly.
Sean Go- career ka forever!!!
Zepha Jackson- ikaw na ang winner. Ikaw na.
Up to now, while writing this blog post about #LoveScotch, I still can’t believe that I met and hosted an intimate lunch for Coco Rocha- and even got to drink some scotch with her. I remember drinking my first scotch when I was in college thinking it’s a “daddy” drink, but now, it’s really a drink whenever you feel like celebrating something, or even just enjoying a night out with friends. Actually, most of my friends order scotch now when were out! I used to not like it on the rocks and mix it with soda or lime juice, but the longer I drink scotch, the more I get to appreciate its taste (parang love lang, mas masarap pag tumatagal lol). This is truly a memorable experience for me and I’m glad I was able to share it with you guys. BMS.
