I flew to Kuala Lumpur last month thanks to MTV Asia. I was actually surprised when they told me I was the only blogger from the Philippines they invited.. baka naligaw ang names ko sa sheets nila.. but nalang! Hahaha. This was also the time when Haiyan happened- the day Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda) was about to hit the Philippines (and all the local flights were cancelled), I had to fly to Kuala Lumpur. I was praying inside the airport that nothing would happen to our flight. People were actually calling me telling me to just miss my flight but I braved it. I immediately texted my parents when I landed so they know I’m safe and asked about the situation in our country. I was also glued to CNN every time I got the chance to watch TV so I know what was happening to our country. Speaking of typhoon Yolanda, MTV Asia is also doing relief efforts and are accept ion donations supportunicef.org/philippines.
Anyway back to the story, MTV Asia gathered Singaporean and Malaysian bloggers (including moi) to go watch MTV EMA 2013 (watch it HERE) altogether in Aloft Hotel. Seriously, it was one of the funnest trips I’ve had- I got to meet so many people, including VJ Hanli Hoefer who’s such a sweet girl! Anyway, right when we landed- we took a cab going to Aloft Hotel (the hotel where we stayed during our entire trip) and just got there in time for the first event which was “Live at Aloft” at WXYZ Bar. I seriously love the interiors of the hotel, it’s so modern and trendy, especially the WXYZ Bar– perfect for trendy people who are always on the go. I seriously love that their WiFi is free and is SUPER fast. I went to my room to leave my bags, freshen up and go back down for the event. VJ Hanli talked about MTV Asia and why we were all there. There were food and drinks everywhere- plus The Light Fantastic sang. It was my first time hearing them and boy, they were so good! I love the acoustic vibe and their voices are really soothing too! I was also able to meet the MTV Asia people and some international bloggers like Tselyn and William. Everyone was so friendly! I definitely had an awesome first night! This was my outfit to the event…
Ever had to go somewhere special immediately after arriving from the airport? One of my major dilemmas every time I travel is what to pack. Of course, you always have to consider the weather and event (if it’s casual, corporate or cocktail). This particular trip, I only had 30 minutes to freshen up and attend an event after putting my bags on the hotel floor. Luckily, the event was just at WXYZ bar at the lobby of our hotel- and this top and pants from Guess fit so perfectly with the theme. I love how simple it is in front and how it turns heads when they see the back. They say black is sexy but this brings “black is sexy” to a whole new level! It’s so comfortable, chic, and easy to wear. No need to accessorise that much because of the shimmer effect. Not to mention, it plays perfectly well with the venue. The hat also made it more casual. More of my ootds and stories about my Aloft Hotel tour on my next few posts. Thank you again MTV Asia for making this possible! BMS.
