Last September 18, The Hermes Silk Ball happened at Manila Peninsula Hotel. When I got a letter from Hermes Manila weeks before the event (and take note, it’s an actual letter and not an email) asking me if I can be one of their muses for the ball, I was pretty stunned. I had to re-read the letter if my name was actually there and if it was really sent for me. It’s such an honour to be part of the Silk Ball and now I wanted to share with you guys my experience during the event. It was a pretty busy day for me because I had the All Things Hair event right before the Silk Ball (which I was part of as well) and had to leave right after to go straight to the holding room so I can change to my outfit. To be accurate, it took me around 30 minutes figuring out how I can wear my turban the right way. Good thing the hair stylists were still there to help me out. As soon as it was fixed, I rushed to the venue only to find myself feeling like a princess inside Rigodon Ballroom- you enter a maze full of mirrors and walls covered in colourful Hermes scarf prints. Of course, everyone just wanted a photo inside this beautiful maze, including me.
The night was filled with delicacies, drinks and dancing. There were two long buffet tables that were set up amazingly, a DJ booth in front with The Zombettes spinning so people can enjoy the music. Hermes even made a small area for the guests where you can have your face mask painted and get sticker tattoos applied. From the first launch in London, followed by other countries like Malaysia, Korea and Hawaii, I can say our country also did a very good job planning and executing the Hermes Silk Ball. Of course, the Uy siblings were present! Vince, Liz (who is also a muse) and I had a lot of fun. Thank you again Hermes for making me one of the muses- It’s definitely a night to remember. BMS.
Hermes (Manila) is located at Greenbelt 3, Ayala Center Makati.
