I’m really beginning to love doing talks. Last year, I got a lot of invites from schools/brands asking me to be a speaker for their events but I always felt like I didn’t know what to share or maybe I was just too shy to face a crowd (I know, I know, weird since I act anyway). This year though, a friend of mine told me to just try saying yes and since then, I’m always so excited every time I get invited to do a talk. Aside from the fact that I get to share my experiences whether it be about fashion, blogging or styling, I also get this unexplainable bliss meeting all my readers. I was honored to be part of Entrepreneur Magazine’s “From Hobby to Business” event, Ateneo De Manila’sspeaker together with Sam YG and Kuya Kim Atienza, SM Davao’s LookBook event with David Guison and just a few weeks ago, I did a talk at SM Batangas titled, “Everything For The Techie.”
The talk was for the Juniors and Seniors of Lyceum of the Philippines taking up communications but there were also a lot of people outside the secured area that listened. Thanks guys! Baka di lang nila ako kilala at na-intriga sila na may talk ako dun. Hahaha! I shared a short story about how I entered the fashion industry and how my love for fashion and blogging grew bigger and bigger. I also shared what I think about social media now and how it’ll be way bigger in a few years.
After my talk, it was time for the students to ask questions about anything! Some were about fashion and about camera specs. Natawa nga ako sa isa, ang tanong, “Ano feeling na kapatid ka ni Liz at Vince Uy?” Hahaha. Cyempre masaya! love my siblings!
The question and answer portion when for about 15 minutes before we went on to my favourite part of the event— the meet and greet!!!
This girl on the upper photo made my day- she said she started following me since 2010 and never felt it was a mistake to do so. She emailed me a few days after the event saying she practiced so many things to say to me but ended up saying nothing so she wanted to say everything there. Her hug was so warm and kind! Thank you so much for dropping by and listening to my talk, and of course, buying Candy’s August issue!!!!!
The girl on the upper left was so adorable. The minute she saw me walking inside the mall (I wasn’t even at the venue), she followed me around for a long while until I got to the venue. She stayed the entire time during my talk and asked for a photo after. Little things like this melts my heart!!! The besties on the lower right attended my talk even if they weren’t taking up communications as their course. They said they wanted to open their own blog so they went to find out more about blogging. Super cute nila!!
These girls on the upper photo are probably the most makulit girls who attended the talk. They insisted on imitating my photo behind us and we even did wacky shots! Hahaha! My assistant wasn’t able to take all the photos of my readers but at least I was able to post some here.
And cyempre, I had a photo taken with my lovely escorts that day! Naks! Nahiya nga ako sa dami but thank you SM Batangas for being extra prepared! Minsan ko lang to ma-feel. Hahaha. I had such a wonderful time sharing my experiences and I can’t wait for my next talk. If you want to check out more photos from the event, click HERE.
