I’ve never been on an outdoor fitness camp before and I used to think I won’t be able to handle it because it might be too tough for me. Luckily, Roxy invited me to one of their weekend fitness camps and it totally changed my mindset about it. Not only did I enjoy but I learned so many new things too. Let me share with you guys what we did for three days in the beautiful city of Zambales at Crystal Beach Resort.
Upon arrival, we had lunch and tried their famous and extremely delicious mango shake (which you have to try when you visit Zambales by the way). I was just there again last weekend and I kid you not, I had three mango shakes everyday!
We went to check out our rooms first and to my surprise, a big bag filled with Roxy items were waiting on top of our beds. Yay! We were able to use almost all of the items for our weekend activities. First activity: Poi workshop.
Okay, we didn’t actually do it with the fire, we were just taught how to do the basic steps and styles when you do poi. It might look easy, but it’s so hard!!! The workshop took about an hour or two, just in time for sunset so we can all go and enjoy the beautiful view.
After dinner, we all went to the beach where they set up this beautiful spot with a projector and speakers and we watched a movie by the beach and under the stars.
They next day, we had a ukulele workshop with Ukulele Manila and got so into it that I bought my own ukulele! Hahaha. We all learned how to play “I’m Yours” by Jason Mraz, apparently the easiest piece to learn lol and by the end of the session, we were all looking forward to learning more songs using the ukulele.
After lunch, it was time for some buddy-body bootcamp. Sounds intense, right? Because it its! Camille and I were so scared to join at first because everyone looked so competitive. Ang ending: we won third place! Woohoo!!! We didn’t expect it also but I guess we can now say we’re also sporty haha. The photographer was able to take photos but I’ll never show it to you guys- Camille and I were so into it we really looked horrible. Lol.
We were supposed to take surfing lessons the following day but sadly, there were no waves so we ended up doing bootcamp water beach version!
After the intense competition (that I didn’t join haha), we just chilled by the beach the entire time before it was time to go back to Manila. I actually skipped on a lot of morning happenings, like yoga and trekking but nonetheless, I still had so much fun.
If you were to ask me, my favorite activity would be the buddy-body boot camp. I wasn’t expecting this answer from me but it is what it is. I never thought I would enjoy three days full of outdoor activities and I would gladly join again in a heartbeat. Roxy plans the best fitness camps and I hope to be part of it again in the future!
