Here are three easy steps on how you can take good care of your leather:

Step 1: Waterproof
This is the first and most important step for me because you get to protect your babies (yes, I call my bags and shoes babies) from stains. I like going out at night and chilling with my friends so it’ll definitely prevent my heels and even sneakers from any drink spills, rain, etc. What to use? Collonil Supreme Protect Spray. I highly recommend it.

Step 2: The 3 C’s: Care, Condition and Color
Remember: leather is skin. We need to take care of it so it’ll have a long, beautiful life. You probably don’t know this but leather is very sensitive to environmental factors like dirt, dust, harsh chemicals and even UV rays. Let’s maintain the quality by taking good care of it by moisturizing and conditioning it. And just like dying our hair, we also need to retouch and revitalize to renew its color so it’ll always look well polished.

Step 3: Cleaning
Lastly, our leather goods collect dust and dirt so we need to clean it and there are two methods: The Routine Cleaning (the dry method) and Deep Cleansing (the wet method). Try dry method is very simple, you just take away the surface dirt by using a brush or cloth. You can even use eraser blocks or these Collonil leather lotion and delicate cream so the material is treated gently. The wet method is harder but definitely worth it. Shampoo and other cleaners can be applied but with heavy stains, you might need delicate cream again. Remember, to avoid dirt, we have to follow the first and most important step- to waterproof.
